The hope of Life

Glorious Light of Christ

Sometimes I pray, because I need help….the kind of help that doesn’t come from friends or advisors. The kind of help that has a knowledge of the future, so the advice and direction that I need will be accurate and reliable. Sometimes I just don’t hear an answer or see one come, just because I have prayed. Sometimes the answer comes in a very unexpected way. Sometimes, people ask questions…why would God do “whatever?” I don’t know…but there are some things I do know, and there are answers available, some answers come only by hunting for them. Children get answers to prayer regarding some of what adults consider unimportant, or not what you should ask for. We live in this world where instant gratification is expected. I love to see the answers when children pray. They pray with such faith…I often wish I could have that kind of faith…..It seems I have to fight a fight to maintain faith, and keep on believing. At least part of the time.

These are a few of my thoughts for the day…reasons…questions…and a few answers….

God is a spirit, and those that worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth(John 4:24). Jesus is the way the truth and the life, and no man comes to the Father but by him…how do we know this? Because Jesus himself said so (John 14:6). There is a way that seems right unto man but that way leads to death.(Proverbs 16:25) Just because we “believe” something doesn’t make it true.

Since God is a spirit and it was him who breathed into us, the breath of life, then we are spirits too. He created us in his image, and we carry the understanding of the life of Christ within us. Within the spirit that God placed within us is the knowledge of him and when our spirit recognizes His Spirit, then we can ask for Him to forgive our sin (which he died for), enter into us and He will and will give us a new life( eternal Life and we become a new creation) …Not only will Jesus come into our Life, but His Holy Spirit will as well. The key is asking.

As humans we recognize that our bodies are wasting away….the days pass, and our bodies wear out, but our Spirit will never wear out or become withered and worthless. Our Spirit hears His Words, and we must draw closer to him daily….Even through the trials of life, our Spirit need not decrease. His Word tells us to Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you(Matt 6:3). All these things equals everything we need!

Seeking is an interesting word, and we seem to not really understand it’s meaning…..Seeking is hunting, it is looking for, it is searching, it is investigating, and it is researching. Seeking has a unique depth that most of us don’t see….We go through life looking at the sky and not realizing that the Heavens declare the Glory of God. We see stars and clouds and rays of sunshine….all provided courtesy of God to display and reveal himself. Look again…see through different eyes, with new understanding. Look at an ant struggling to carry something much heavier than himself, and the bible tells us to look at the ant and do what he does(work hard, and persevere). So we should keep trying and not give up….have we sought God in an ant? Have we sought God in the love we have for someone? Who has the ability to warm our hearts with this thing called love? Seeking is searching those common things we have not paid attention to in the past…asking God, where are you in this…What do you want to show me, teach me, reveal to me, and what am I to do with that?

Seeking is research….What exactly has God done in the past? What has occurred in your life or the life of anyone else that can be contributed to God? We hear of Miracles and we chalk them up to coincidence, or we think…how did this happen? Yet, if we don’t look to those things with the eyes that seek God in them, we may miss a very important clue to what God wants for us and from us, or to provide us with a tool for the future.

Are you sick? Is someone you love in pain or suffering? In seeking the Kingdom of God, we must search out instances of healing, either normally or supernaturally. How did one person feel a warmth as they were traveling home and know that God had healed them? How did a specific Dr know to turn around, enter back into a room where someone was pronounced dead and pray for that person, only to try one more time to shock them back….How did someone who was blind, suddenly receive their sight? How did someone who was dying suddenly turn a corner and come back into life healed…..to live a new and different life? Who has the answers? What does the Bible say about healing? Who was healed? Who was brought back from death? Who was there? What was done? Who did it? How did they know what to do and how to do it. Who rescued those lost at sea with no GPS? Were angels there? What happened?

The Bible is full of the stories of real people encountering a living God who cares deeply for his people. There are stories of real people who turned their back on God and what happened to them, and stories of people who believed him and were instantly healed.

There are stories of Jesus who turned water into Wine signifying that the very laws of nature, can be changed. There are stories of people who prayed, seeking God’s deliverance from evil, and messages that say “go” and “do” and “believe”, and help my unbelief.

It is the Spirit of the Living God who places within us the ability to believe Him. The human body side of us and our mind are incapable of “belief”. It takes a supernatural presence of God to do that.

The Bible also says to us that he speaks those things that are not, as though they are. (Romans 4:17)

I love the story of Abraham:

Rom 4:13 It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
Rom 4:14 For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless,
Rom 4:15 because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
Rom 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Rom 4:17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that were not as though they were.
Rom 4:18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
Rom 4:19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.
Rom 4:20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
Rom 4:21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Rom 4:22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Rom 4:23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but
Rom 4:24 also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
Rom 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

If Abraham knew God, then he would also have known that God could be trusted. (and he did) God Called things that were not as though they were….and that is one of the messages he has for us.
Instead of saying all the things that are wrong, we need to be like our God and call the things that are not as though they are. If we aren’t sure of how to pray or what to do in ANY instance than we should be seeking God for direction. How is this done God? What do you have for me to do in this instance? Is there something I am not seeing? Is there knowledge available that I haven’t found? Is there something I don’t wish to think about, but that is true, and in order to overcome this, that has entered my life, I need to deal with or learn or do? Teach me God!

It seems to me that sometimes in the process of answering our prayers or teaching us something new we run head on into someplace we really don’t want to be.

I remember years and years ago, praying for my Son who was having nightmares every night….I prayed, and I prayed….but no answers….
Then one night about 3 AM I heard the voice of the Lord calling me….and YES, I did know it was HIM….He said…get up, I have things I must teach you before morning. (I don’t think anyone else could have heard this…it just seemed to be spoken into my thoughts) He took me to his word, and taught me directly from it. That night I learned the value of the blood of Jesus….We can and should pray a covering over us, our family, our stuff and our pets. I learned the process of protecting my family from the powers of darkness that come from things we never dreamed could bring evil upon us. That Night I learned there was much I didn’t know about the Kingdom of God, and the battle that rages between us as Christians and the evil of the devil. I learned that satan is NOT a respecter of the children and he will destroy them at all costs so they will never see the love of Jesus. I learned that through faith in the word, and knowledge my children could be protected from the powers of the enemies of God. In the morning, I followed His directions, and ever since that time, I have walked in areas that many have never even considered. Oftentimes people will pray…but sometimes that is not the answer, or doesn‘t seem to be. God has many a battle for us to fight, and that is the very reason he has provided armor for us (Ephesians 6).

Each of us is different, but some truths are for all of us. Salvation, the battle, faith, hope, peace, demanding, commanding and decreeing.

Interesting things that many of us never learn is that Prayer changes things. Prayer is not only talking with God, it is speaking his words, declaring his Glory, promoting his Truth, Holding his Word, claiming his promises. We cannot live successful, Spirit Filled lives without a direct link to the God of the Universe, and that link comes first through belief in Jesus and second through knowing Him and His Word. His Word says….MY PEOPLE are Destroyed…FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE….(Hos 4:6) However, if we ask…His Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and teach us all we need to know at any given time. With God you can believe we are on a “Need to know” basis, and when we need to know, he will teach us, provided we ask!

It is time for us to learn, to seek, to investigate, to research, to trust, and to believe and to Pray….Because Prayer in it’s many forms changes things, yet without knowing what our God is expecting from us so he can bring it to pass, he cannot answer and we must begin to speak those things that are not….As though they are! The examples that he has given are keys to finding our way through the hazardous trails of life….

Take time to look for God…in all things! Then we can see further, hear better, walk further, stand stronger, and give hope to our families and to the world…Only because he has shown us the way.

Blessings to you all,
Prayyior
