Abortion is NOT an unforgivable sin…..
It is not my place as a Christian to tell you that you are evil and
your action is despicable, nor is it my place to cast any judgment on you. If any Christian tells you that, or condemns you, then go find another Christian who offers you kindness. Those who have experienced the panic, fear, heartbreak, sorrow of abortion, do not need judgment…they they need grace and love!
Despite the fact that I stand strongly against abortion, whatever type or form it takes, I want you to know that my heart is full of forgiveness and mercy for you. I know you have already been through the heartbreak and guilt of your decision. Even though you thought at the time it was the answer to your problem, the days and weeks since that day have taken a toll on you.
You have thought…”what if” or “If I had only”….perhaps you have thought…”who would this child be”…”how old is he or she now”…. Have you forgotten the date? Have you managed to erase from your memory, the sounds, the voices, the smells of that day? Have you just been going along on a normal day to suddenly be thrown back into that memory, without knowing what triggered that memory? Yea, it happens…and it will continue to happen. As time passes, it will be less often, and some of the pain will be forgotten…but not all…probably not ever.
The good news is that you aren’t doomed to this cycle of sorrow forever. You arrived here at this site for a very good reason. The God of love has directed your path to be invited into his circle of love and forgiveness….
I believe, based on everything I have read in the Bible (Of course I am going to use the Bible, this is a Christian blog), Your Child is with Jesus…and that child loves you and is waiting for you. That child has already forgiven you.
Being responsible for the death of a child is a horrible thing, especially when you were the one who made the choice to destroy that life that was growing inside you…..being kept alive by you, and was known by God before you even knew you were pregnant. The guilt can be unbearable.
Today I am here to say, that Jesus is a forgiving God and he will forgive you and heal your heart if you ask him. Your choice….did NOT surprise him…He knew that would be one of your choices and one of your challenges, and one of the reasons you have kicked yourself over and over again. I urge you to call out to him and ask for his forgiveness. God knew you before you were born, and if you are here reading this now, then he has sent you here because He loves you. He wants you to know that it’s OK to cry, and it is OK to be angry, and it is OK to just be….He knows you may be in a state of shock, or you may have lived years with this laying heavy on your heart. He also knows that you may have thumbed your nose at HIM, and with a rebellious heart have said you didn’t have to live by his rules. Whatever has gone through your mind and your heart is not a surprise to God, so it is ok to just say it like it is.
Today he is calling you to make this right with him. He is calling you to let him forgive you, so that you can forgive yourself. He wants you to stop beating up on yourself, and wants you to walk away today, knowing him as your Lord and your Savior, and Your healer. He wants you to take this time of pain and share it with others, for there are millions out there who are suffering like you have been suffering. He wants to make you whole…and free.
If you are ready to be free from this, then pray these words with all your heart, and He will forgive you and heal the brokenness within you.
Lord Jesus, I am so sorry….so sorry that I killed my child. I listened to the other words like “fetus” and “zygote” and pushed away the fact that this was a child. I am so sorry….Please forgive me. I have done lots of things that I knew were wrong, and today I ask you forgive me for all of them. I ask you to forgive me for the rebellion in my heart and soul that caused me to refuse to hear your calls to me. Today, I give you my life, and I ask you to heal my heart and my mind and soul, that I might have a new life. I ask for peace in my heart and soul and brain. Your WORD declares that “whoever” will call upon the Name of the Lord, shall be saved. I accept your forgiveness and give you my life and I ask you to show me the way to living a life that will bless you. I thank you that Jesus gave HIS life that I might live…..Thank you Lord for forgiving me and saving me. I pray in Jesus Holy Name …AMEN
Now BREATHE…..just BREATHE….when you come humbly before the Lord, you can know he is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. It is important to find a Bible and start reading so you know who HE is and all the gifts he has for you. He will lead you where you are to go, and He will be your best friend. He is now available to talk with…just tell him how you feel and what you are thinking….He will communicate with you in a way that you will recognize him. If you aren’t sure it is him….just speak out loud and tell any voices that you are hearing, other than God’s, to be silent in the name of Jesus. Then trust that what you are hearing or thinking is coming from HIM.
The Bible says….You are now a new person. (2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.)
Life will be different either immediately or over time…but keep your eyes open…be aware of what is happening in your life. God is there, he is showing you the way. He is fulfilling the plans He has for YOUR LIFE…so stay with him…His plans for you are AWESOME!
In future days, if you start feeling guilty, then you need to realize that is not God! God will never put guilt on you when He has already forgiven you. There is another article on this blog that deals with guilt…take the time to read it when you have time.
Know this….God called you here today for a purpose and that purpose is so that you could come to God, be set free and begin to live a fresh, new life. The Bible tells us that “My God shall supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”…. So Trust him to take care of you and help you. Ask him to enter in and give you his love and his peace. Ask him to fill you with his Holy Spirit and be your very best friend. Then take the time to talk to him every day about anything you want to talk about. He is a great listener and if you sit quietly and listen, he will speak to you….. so listen and read your Bible so you can learn of him!
“A Christian is somebody related to God, in the family of God. They are born-again by the Spirit of God. It is not a case of having a religious experience, one day, or a vision, or feeling good or happy. It is a RELATIONSHIP, closeness, and a family tie. Christ lived for us – to belong to us. If Christ belongs to me, I am saved. He gave Himself FOR us, and gave Himself TO us. Salvation means being united with Him. Jesus doesn’t send salvation. He IS salvation. He doesn’t send forgiveness of sins He brings it. He forgives us and lives with us. God bless you.” ~~ REINHARD BONNKE
This would likely make someone clam up or walk out in a pastoral situation.
